Position – Case Management Consultant

Experience in the Auto No Fault and Work Comp arenas preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Counselor, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist in the State of Michigan and will have at least 2 years previous clinical experience and has worked at least 2 years as a Case Manager in the private sector. CCM certification preferred.

 

Job Requirements

  • Current nursing license as required by Michigan State Law
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing or health care program
  • At least 2 years clinical experience, preferably in the ICU, ER or Home Health Care
  • Must be willing to travel within the specified service area
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with a team of inter-disciplinary professionals, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state, federal and regulatory requirements that pertain to Work Comp, Auto No-Fault and Disability Insurance
  • Must be able to interpret and implement the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of OCS that are necessary for providing quality care
  • Must have basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word

Full time constitutes a caseload of over 15 cases or billing of more than 30 hrs per week on average. Part constitutes a caseload of approximately 10-15 cases or billing less than 30 hrs per week on average.

Description

The case manager will provide advocacy, support and empowerment services as well as direct client contact through the following activities:

  • Document services and outcomes
  • Evaluate effectiveness of the case management process
  • Identify available treatment modalities and establish treatment goals
  • Understand case management philosophy and principles
  • Communicate case management objectives
  • Assess clinical information to develop treatment plans
  • Establish working relationships with referral sources
  • Make referrals for assessments and necessary treatment and act as an advocate for the claimant’s health care needs
  • Understand standard treatment protocols for psychiatric illnesses
  • Understand treatment resources for chemical dependency
  • Understand levels of care required in the acute phase
  • Understand disease process of medical illnesses
  • Understand characteristics of illnesses
  • Understand respite needs of individuals
  • Understand principles of health care maintenance
  • Understand job accommodation principles and the application
  • Plan for the client’s vocational service needs
  • Understand techniques for re-entry into the labor force
  • Understand philosophy of workers’ compensation systems
  • Identify resources that can improve the client’s earnings capacity
  • Understand cost analysis procedures and determine cost effectiveness
  • Prepare accurate timely cost/benefit analysis
  • Use service negotiation techniques and assess extra-contractual coverage
  • Use cost containment strategies that maximize an individual’s access to extended medical payments
  • Understand eligibility requirements for services in both the public and private sectors
  • Understand referral procedures in the public sector
  • Understand community-based funding resources and Medicaid provisions
  • Understand theories of personality and family functioning
  • Understand principles of group dynamics and relationship building
  • Understand principles of self-determination and empowerment

Position – Director of Business Development

Experience in the Auto No Fault and Work Comp arenas preferred but not required. The ideal candidate must demonstrate effective customer service driven results with increased business due to their skills and abilities and submit samples of creative marketing materials and plans that were successful in the past.

You also, must willing to travel throughout the entire state of Michigan to meet with clients on a regular basis and meet with some out of state clients from time to time as well

  • Previous marketing or sales experience with documented results
  • Must be willing to travel within the specified service area
  • Must effectively use all forms of marketing techniques including but not limited to face to face contacts, various social media platforms, email/telephone marketing, etc…
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with a team of inter-disciplinary professionals
  • Must be knowledgeable of current trends in Marketing and Sales
  • Must be able to interpret the goals, objectives and policies and procedures of OCS that are necessary for providing quality care
  • Must have basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and be able to utilize other forms of internet/email based marketing including Constant Contact
  • Eventually will need to train and supervise other marketing staff as the company grows
